Hello to the Warrane community
The end of the year is fast approaching! The teachers are currently working on end of year assessment and reporting. In our team meetings we are also starting to think about next year and what the whole school priorities will be. Classes for next year are also being discussed and information on which class your child(ren) will be provided in the final reports.
All classes have participated in the Growing Up Program this week. The program provides important knowledge at an age-appropriate level from Kinder to Grade 6.
Our next whole school assembly is on Monday the 28th of November. Lock into your diaries, Wednesday the 14th of December for our final awards assembly. Classes are getting together and preparing a Christmas item to share with our school community. Grade 6 Leavers assembly will be on the 21st of December.
Have a lovely rest of the week and weekend.
Sarah

This term 3/4 Wood have been learning about procedural writing. We have been following different types of procedures, including recipes, instructions and rules as well as writing our own procedures, which we have learnt need to be very specific and detailed! Here are some amazing Dragon Eye’s that students produced by following a video procedure.
This year for Remembrance Day, 3/4 Wood read stories and learnt about the significance of the red poppy and why it is worn on Remembrance Day. The poppy symbolises remembrance and hope since the end of the first World War. Students made their own poppy’s and took them to our school service.

Grade 6 students did a marvellous job organising crazy hair day yesterday.
$216.00 was raised for their Grade 6 Fundraising. Thank you to all the students who participated.
Below are a few photos of the colourful creations!

If you reside in our school intake area and your child will be attending Kindergarten at Warrane Primary School in 2023 (turning 5 years old during 2023), please contact the office for an enrolment form.
Below is a map of our intake area (purple highlighted section).
We are kindly seeking donations for our Christmas raffle. Items can include unused or non-perishable items. If you are able to donate even one item such as a toy, game, book etc. it would be greatly appreciated.
Tickets are $1 per ticket or book for $10
Raffles books will be sent home with students today
Students enjoy riding their bike or scooter to and from school and it’s a great way for them to stay active.
We ask that you please ensure your child always wears a correctly fitted helmet when they ride to and from school.
Reminder that in Term 4 students are required to wear hats at all break times and during outdoor lessons. The skin on faces, heads, necks and ears is much more sensitive to sun damage so it is important that your child brings a hat to school that covers these sensitive areas.
Bucket hats are available at the school office to purchase for $6.
A friendly reminder about school parking. The visitor carpark is the designated parent/guardian carpark for dropping students off and picking them up. The smaller carpark is the staff/delivery carpark. Due to poor visibility and delivery trucks traversing the staff carpark, parents/guardians are requested to only use the visitor carpark. We appreciate your cooperation.
